Figure Drawing

Ever since the ancients utilized mark-making to provide the appearance of depth on a two-dimensional surface, drawing realistically has been a highly esteemed craft. Beginners who wish to master the fundamentals of life sketching should take this course. Using various charcoal mediums, students will hone their talents in figurative drawing. Students will use sculptures, photographic references, and eventually live models as they advance through the course. Students will improve their ability to draw successfully from life via a series of demonstrations, in-class drawing, group critiques, and individual assistance from the teacher. Composition, proportion, value relationships, edge connections, modeling, materials, and stylization are among the main subjects. Subjects exposed to one-source illumination will be the focus of in-class drawing exercises and assignments, which will range in duration of quick studies to more developed compositions.
